скаляр, скалярная величина
1) скаляр; скалярный 2) скалярная величина
прилагательное [математика] скалярный
1) скаляр, скалярная величина переменная (scalar variable), содержащая одиночное значение, в отличие от других сложных структур данных; в математике - величина, имеющая только значение, в отличие от вектора, имеющего как значение, так и направление. Например, температура - скалярная величина, а скорость - векторная Смотри также: array, record, scalar processor, scalar type Антоним(ы): vector 2) скалярный
I. adjective Etymology: Latin scalaris, from scalae stairs, ladder — more at scale 1. having an uninterrupted series of steps; graduated Example: scalar chain of authority Example: scalar cells 2. a. capable of being represented by a point on a scale Example: scalar quantity b. of or relating to a scalar or scalar product Example: scalar multiplication II. noun 1. a real number rather than a vector 2. a quantity (as mass or time) that has a magnitude describable by a real number and no direction
1. A single number, as opposed to a vector or matrix of numbers. Thus, for example, "scalar multiplication" refers to the operation of multiplying one number (one scalar) by another and is used to contrast this with "matrix multiplication" etc. 2. In a parallel processor or vector processor, the "scalar processor" handles all the sequential operations - those which cannot be parallelised or vectorised. See also superscalar. 3. Any data type that stores a single value (e.g. a number or Boolean), as opposed to an aggregate data type that has many elements. A string is regarded as a scalar in some languages (e.g. Perl) and a vector of characters in others (e.g. C).
